Ayurvedic Pumpkin Chai Spiced Latte

Ingredients

  • 1-2 ea chai tea bags of choice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup unsweetened milk of choice, divided in half
  • 2 tbsp Farmer's Market Foods Organic Pumpkin Puree
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice blend (or (1/8 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/8 tsp ground ginger, pinch ofground nutmeg, pinch of ground clove)
  • pinch ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ashwagandha powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric optional
  • 1/2 tsp arrowroot starch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp 100% pure maple syrup or raw honey, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the ½ cup of water to a boil. Remove from the heat and add in the tea bag(s). Cover the pot and let steep for about 4-5 minutes. Carefully remove the tea bag(s) and gently squeeze any liquid back into the pan.

  2. Add the pumpkin puree, spices, ashwagandha, turmeric, starch, vanilla, and ½ cup of milk. Heat on medium to medium-low heat and whisk together until hot. Turn off heat and set aside

  3. If you have a frother, froth ½ cup of milk. If your frothe rdoes not have a heating element, heat 1/2 cup of milk before frothing. If you do not have a frother, heat the milk on high, whisking until frothy.

  4. Make sure your chai mixture is still hot. Gently reheat ifneeded. Pour into your desired glass, and top with frothed milk. Enjoy!
